Moving is just SO exciting! You never know what is going to happen next!
For example:
The military travel planner just called and told us that our tickets have been "flagged" because our dog kennels are TOO LARGE to go on the plane. Well, just one dog kennel actually. Rigger's kennel.
Hello.......
The requirements are that the dog needs to be able to sit, stand, lie down, and turn around in the kennel. We bought the largest size kennel MADE and Rigger still can't turn around in it.
So Kerry immediately called the airline to find out what could be done. Thank goodness for my husband's military training and bearing. I was nearly in tears just listening to the conversation. I would have been of no use whatsoever if I had been the one to receive the phone call. I couldn't have convinced anyone at the airline to work this out because they would not have been able to understand a word I said through my hysterical sobbing.
Apparently we can fly on this airline, with these kennels, just not at 9:00 in the morning. We have to fly at 6:40 A.M. and we have to check in two hours before that. And we will actually be even earlier than that because we are paranoid people and we worry about what else they might spring on us at the last minute. Especially since the airline felt no need to notify us of this kennel dilemma. We are fortunate that the travel agent happened to notice there was a problem.
As I said, exciting!
You will be in my prayers that you get on the plane smoothly! Just think, this time next week you will be laying on the beach:)
